In this Macramé Workshop For Two, indulge yourself in the Macramé world by creating a piece of knotted artwork of your choice including a mandala, plant holder, handbag or wall hanging!

Macramé is believed to have originated from the 13th century by Arab Weavers. By using the excesses of fabrics, the Arabs decorated the fringes of bath towels and veils. This type of crafting technique later developed to a knotting art form. By using simple knots, easy and beautiful artwork can be created.

In this 2.5 to 3-hour experience, you will be able to learn the technique of doing simple Macramé work on your own. You will have a choice of making either a Macramé mandala, plant holder, handbag or wall hanging. You will learn the fundamental skills of Macramé, including a basic square knot and double half hitch, which will help you create your own Macramé art piece. Equipment will be provided during the experience, including premium cotton yarn imported from Europe.

While doing Macramé, it requires attention to detail to make sure every knot is right. Through Macramé, you will also find it a meditative experience to calm yourself down from the daily hustle of work and life.

Your instructor is an experienced textile artist who will guide you step-by-step through your journey of making your own Macramé creation.

At the end of this experience, bring home your piece of knotting work as well as your serene mind after this one-of-a-kind meditation through Macramé-making.
