A truly unique and immersive experience with their private sake tasting accompanied by an international certified sake sommelier, the experience allows you to indulge in the art of sake appreciation while exploring a variety of different sake types, each offering its own distinct characteristics and flavors.

During the private tasting experience, you will be guided by a knowledgeable sommelier who will take you on a journey through the nuances of sake. They will share insights into the intricate production process, shedding light on the craftsmanship and traditions that go into creating this traditional Japanese beverage. You will learn about the careful selection of rice, the fermentation methods, and the impact they have on the final flavor profiles.

The sommelier will expertly introduce you to each sake type, explaining its unique qualities and helping you develop a discerning palate.

There will be a diverse range of sake styles that you can taste during the sake tasting journey:

Sparking: Tohno Komachi type-M
Light type : Kyohime Ichishaku Ikkei Daiginjo
Fruity type : Saku zaku z Junmai Daiginjo
Rich type : Kome Itto Junmai Shu
Aged type : Yamabuki Gold Aged Sake

The fundamental knowledge about sake you will be able to learn during the experience:

    • Sake has many types, including Ginjo, Daiginjo, Junmai Ginjo, and others. What do they represent and what makes them special?
    • 4 major taste styles: Koshu, Juku, Sawa, Jun, what are they?
    • When you see a label on a bottle of sake, how can beginners or experienced individuals interpret it?
    • What are the differences between sake and other types of alcohol? What can you experience?
    • Different serving temperatures
    • How does the sake culture in Japan differ from that in Hong Kong?
    • Recommendations for pairing sake with small snacks for gifting purposes.
    • In the sake culture, we often hear the term "Seimai Buai" (polishing ratio). What does it actually mean?
    • Sake & light food cuisine, Japanese sake snacks.
    • (Participants are recommended to be responsible for their own health condition due to the consumption of alcohol, and should take personal responsibility for any medical conditions such as discomfort, heart disease, allergies, etc.)
 

Number of People

This Experience Voucher is valid for 6 people in a private session.

Additional person may join at an additional cost of HK$680 per person, up to a maximum of 22 people.

Availability and Duration

This experience lasts for 2-3 hours.
Bookings can be made according to Experience Partner’s schedule and are subject to availability..
Bookings must be made at least 7 working days in advance and subject to availability.

      • All sake and tools provided by Experience Partner

How to Prepare

Utensils and sake cups will be provided by the experience partner, but participants are also welcome to bring their own.

Q: If I have more than 6 people participating, how many sakes can be tasted?
A: For 1-7 people: 1 bottle of sparkling sake and 4 bottles of sake.
For 8-14 people: 2 bottles of sparkling sake and 8 bottles of sake.
For 15-22 people: 3 bottles of sparkling sake and 12 bottles of sake.
