Explore the traditional Turkish art of Ebru Marbling and create a unique patterned silk scarf in this Ebru Marbling Silk Scarf Workshop For Two!

Ebru Art is a traditional Turkish art that utilizes water, dye and an awl. Mesmerising works can be produced through Ebru art by transferring designs and patterns onto paper or fabric.

In this 2-hour experience, you will make a patterned silk scarf with the use of Ebru art techniques. You will be provided with all the necessary Ebru Art equipment, including the dye and the awl, all of which are authentic from Turkey. You will first mix water with the pigment to create the dye and sprinkle your chosen dye colours in a large, shallow basin. With the use of an awl, you can mix the pigments to create your own designs and patterns on the surface of the dye. After you have completed your patterns, you will transfer the image onto a silk scarf by carefully placing your silk scarf on top of the painted basin. Then in one quick motion, you will pull the scarf out from the basin and voila (!) you have a patterned scarf! All that’s left to do is to let the silk scarf dry and it’s complete!
