Participate in this Indigo Dyeing Workshop For Two and immerse yourself in the ancient art of Japanese Shibori blue dye!

Japanese Blue Dye, also known as Shibori, is quite rare in Hong Kong. Originating from ancient Japan, Japanese have found ways to create beautiful long-standing patterns and work of art over the years. Consider this experience a modern revival of this ancient dyeing skill !

Before the experience, you will be sent some reference designs to give you some inspiration so that you can come with a design in mind. In this 3-hour private workshop, your instructor will demonstrate different indigo dyeing methods and you will also have hands-on experience in making your own indigo dyed scarf (160cm x 60cm), tote bag, cap or T-shirt (4 sizes available). The experience will provide you with all the equipment you need and will encourage you to create your product all on your own. The instructor will be on-hand if you need help with any of the procedures.

At the end of your experience, your creation may still be wet after the natural indigo dyeing process. In order to bring it home, you will be provided with packaging so your work will not be damaged on the way. You will also be given instructions for a final simple procedure that you need to complete at home after a few days to ensure the colour fastness of the indigo dye.
