It will be more than just a cup of Chinese tea you will be sipping on, but thousands of years of Chinese culture and intricate rituals involved in drinking Chinese tea. After this 2-hour experience in a tranquil private setting, it will give you a more in-depth understanding and appreciation of Chinese tea.

Participants start off with a tea ceremony and tea tasting session conducted by the tea masters.

Throughout the workshop, you will not only have your questions answered, but also learn:

  1. The Chinese “Gongfu tea” brewing method - how to properly use all the tools to brew tea and how does the process affect the taste and quality of the tea?
  2. How to brew a perfect cup of tea? Either loose leaf or in a teabag.
  3. What's the difference and health benefits between all the different types of tea? Such as English breakfast tea, Oolong tea, Green tea, Ceylon tea, Ginseng tea, Jasmine tea, Chai tea, Herbal tea, etc.
  4. What is the proper tea-drinking etiquette?
  5. How does the tea-plant turn into the tea we drink?
  6. What qualifies as a good tea? Why are some teas so expensive?
  7. What is the history behind Chinese tea culture?
  8. How is Chinese tea different from Japanese, English, or Indian teas?
Participants will work with individual tea sets for the hands-on portion of the workshop. Start your journey into the world of tea at our cozy teahouse!

*****

My boyfriend and I really loved the tea appreciation class. It was a great way to start our weekend, and to celebrate his birthday in Hong Kong. It was fun, educational yet relaxing.
