The Chinese Four Arts “Qin (Chinese Piano), Qi (Chinese Chess Game), Shu (Chinese Calligraphy), Hua (Chinese Painting)” have been passed through centuries down to this day to illustrate how ancient Chinese combine culture with art. In this Chinese calligraphy class, you will learn about “Shu” to write your own name in Chinese calligraphy and create your own Fai Chun (CNY Red Banner).
This Chinese calligraphy class lasts for 1.5 hours, you will first learn the correct posture and basic techniques for writing a piece of Chinese calligraphy to get familiar with this art. The instructor will then introduce you with three common Chinese calligraphy fonts, including clerical script, regular script and running script. Each of the Chinese fonts have their own origin and features which will be demonstrated by your Chinese calligraphy instructor for you to follow. With the basics under your belt, you will be able to write your name or create a Fai Chun in Chinese calligraphy of your own style!
All Chinese calligraphy tools will be provided, you will also enjoy free flow of tea and snacks throughout the experience. All you need to do is come with a friend to enjoy a relaxing afternoon and immerse in Chinese calligraphy!

Participants must be aged 5 or above, no prior Chinese calligraphy experience is needed.
This Experience includes:
- Instruction on the proper posture for writing Chinese calligraphy
- Introduction on different Chinese font styles
- All tools and materials, including: writing brushes, ink and paper
- Free flow of tea and snack
You will be writing your names in your favourite Chinese fonts and creating your own Fai Chun.
